We are currently recruiting a dedicated and supportive Teaching Assistant to work within a friendly and inclusive primary school in the Bournville area. This role is ideal for an enthusiastic individual who is passionate about supporting children’s learning and development across EYFS, KS1 or KS2.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the class teacher with the delivery of lessons and learning activities
- Work with individuals and small groups to support academic progress
- Assist pupils with SEND, EAL, and additional learning needs
- Promote positive behaviour and support classroom management
- Help create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment
- Support pupils’ social, emotional, and personal development
- Assist with classroom preparation, resources, and displays
- Follow safeguarding policies and school procedures at all times
Essential Qualifications & Requirements
- Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) – ESSENTIAL
- GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English and Mathematics
- Experience working with children in a primary school or educational setting
- Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
- Right to work in the UK
- Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection
Desirable
- Experience supporting pupils with SEND (including ASD, ADHD, SEMH)
- Experience in EYFS, KS1 or KS2
- Knowledge of phonics programmes (e.g. Little Wandle, Read Write Inc)
- Experience delivering interventions or small-group support
- Calm, patient, and nurturing approach
