About us
Join our team at PAC, a friendly and established automation specialist based in Gloucestershire. For over 25 years, we’ve been providing high-quality installation and maintenance services for automated gates, vehicle barriers, roller garage doors, and intercom/access control systems. As a fully compliant member of the Door and Hardware Federation (DHF), an approved installer for Gate Safe, and holders of CHAS Elite and SafeContractor accreditations, we work to the highest industry standards.
About the role
As an Installation Engineer Apprentice, you’ll learn to install automated gate and barrier systems for domestic and commercial clients across Gloucestershire and surrounding counties. Your primary focus will be on second‑fix installation work, including wiring, mounting components, testing, and commissioning, with the opportunity to assist on first‑fix works such as groundworks, cable pulling, and motor box installation. This is an exciting opportunity to train within our experienced installation team, gaining hands‑on skills from day one. As you progress, you’ll be expected to work independently and, on occasion, alongside one or more experienced engineers. We’re looking for someone with a genuine interest in engineering and working with their hands, who is adaptable, proactive, and a good problem solver. If you’re keen to earn while you learn and build a career in automation engineering, we want to hear from you. Apply now and take the first step towards becoming a fully qualified installation and automation engineer at PAC.

- Manage your own time on jobs to ensure maximum efficiency.
- Communicate job progress with the operations team.

- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- A genuine interest in engineering, mechanics, or working with your hands.
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
