Responsibilities
- With over half a billion Pinners searching, saving and engaging with tens of billions of Pins, analysts at Pinterest can call upon a massive supply of high‑intent data – one of the most unique data sets in the world
- As a Senior Insights Partner on the Sales Insights team, you will execute analyses and craft data storytelling using this data and other sources, to help clients succeed on Pinterest
- Your work will teach advertisers about their customers, categories, culture and more on Pinterest, driving them to invest though bespoke insights that help marketers realise their brands’ full potential on the platform
- As a Senior Insights Partner, you will be responsible for understanding your sectors’ and its advertisers’ business priorities, developing insight‑led sales collateral designed to further Pinterest’s revenue objectives
- You will partner with the Sales team to identify the most significant needs of advertisers that, addressable through analysis and research
- You will ideate and execute insights research projects to meet these needs, through first‑party behavioural data analysis, qualitative/quantitative studies, and integration of syndicated research
- You will distill findings into compelling insights stories with actionable recommendations, deepening advertiser partnerships and driving revenue
- Conduct analysis of first‑party platform data to build insights to drive revenue for the UK CPG and Emerging (non‑endemic) sectors
- Translate a diverse array of datasets into compelling, actionable insights stories and narratives, supporting revenue goals and company‑, market‑ and sector‑level go‑to‑market strategic priorities, and informed by advertiser requirements, stakeholder input and challenging business questions
- Complementing first‑party analysis and storytelling, leverage third‑party syndicated data sources (e.g. ComScore, GlobalWebIndex, Mintel, eMarketer) to deepen understanding, strengthen arguments and provide wider context. In some instances, partner with research agencies to commission and take to market custom research
- Engage key clients directly, partnering with Sales to present your work and influence external stakeholders in the room through presentations, workshops and other engagements
- Lead technical and operational projects and initiatives to improve the impact of the broader Insights team. Collaborate with peers and stakeholders across multiple functions to deliver against company‑wide go‑to‑market strategies
- Manage effective working relationships with internal stakeholders across multiple functions, including Sales, Marketing and Creative teams. Act not only as an analyst, but as a crucial business partner driving your sectors’ success
- Use Pinterest’s rich and evolving AI toolkit to fuel speed, efficiency and quality in end‑to‑end insights workflows, from business need identification, industry knowledge, narrative construction, data analysis, presentation and reporting, with a clear understanding of AI’s strengths and limitations
Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in data querying and manipulation in SQL is a must
- Experience in the CPG or Emerging (non‑endemic) sectors within an analytical or advertising function is a plus
- An understanding of and passion for Pinterest
- Experience working quickly and efficiently in a fast‑paced tech environment
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
- Experience contributing to research and insights planning, with an ability to consolidate sometimes ambiguous business needs into prioritised deliverables, balancing multiple requirements and stakeholders
- Experience executing or commissioning qualitative and quantitative research is a plus
- Experience leading programs or initiatives within their team or company is a plus
- Experience in the digital space required; social media platforms, ad agencies, or research agencies a plus
- Ability to connect data analysis to real business questions/objectives in order to impact business decisions, producing proven outcomes
- A track record of critical evaluation and verification of AI‑assisted work, including testing, source‑checking, data validation and peer review where appropriate; builds AI solutions with tooling available, shares expertise and improves how the wider team uses AI
- Strong communication skills and the ability to use data storytelling to craft engaging and actionable insights for a variety of professional audiences; experience presenting insights to audiences large and small
- Track record of operating independently, demonstrating data‑backed storytelling skills, being detail‑oriented, and delivering results in a highly organized yet engaging manner
- Excellent relationship‑building skills, and a strong ability to work cross‑functionally as well as independently
- Experience building high‑quality presentations in Google Slides; aptitude with data visualisation or design is a plus
- 6+ years of relevant experience using data to solve business challenges and data storytelling, crafting engaging and actionable insights designed to influence
