Restructuring Lawyer – 0-5 years PQE Location: Glasgow / Edinburgh Brief We are currently looking to recruit a 0-5 years PQE Lawyer into our Restructuring team in Glasgow or Edinburgh to support the Scotland restructuring partners, with opportunities to also support the national restructuring teams. The team Pinsent Masons has a market-leading Scottish banking and restructuring practice based across Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen. We advise a broad range of lenders and borrowers on a wide variety of financing transactions. We act for all the UK clearing banks and a growing number of other European and investment banks on all types of facilities, from acquisition finance, real estate finance to debt capital markets. We also act for many borrowers, from listed companies to small enterprises, on their financings. Our practice is broad and very varied. We deliver a high quality legal service banking and finance team with access to a deep knowledge of current market practice, we are on the panel and act for, all of the UK clearing banks and a number of European and investment banks in relation to bilateral and syndicated lending transactions. We deliver a truly partner led service and strongly believe in being fully joined up across our network of offices. We work on a full team approach – we go to market as a Scottish restructuring team and enjoy a wide range of business development activities. We have a strong focus on a wide range of restructuring matters across sectors such as, financial services, real estate, hospitality, retail and education. The team operates as part of the well-resourced national restructuring department, offering a ‘collaborative approach’. Key clients All UK clearing banks except the Bank of England A number of overseas banks and funds BDO Teneo EY PWC FRP Advisory Interpath Advisory RSM Advisory Work highlights Advising Teneo as administrators of Harland & Wolff PLC. Advised a funder in respect of the sale of its loans and transfer of its security to an incoming funder in respect of a UK pub and brewery borrower. Advising BDO NI in respect of their appointment as administrators to a number of residential and holiday parks in Northern Ireland. Advising Teneo as administrators of Fletton Quays Hotel Limited in respect of their appointment to the company and now in the sale of the partially built hotel in Peterborough. Working with numerous boards of companies facing financial difficulties towards refinancing/new investment or alternatively through into an insolvency process. We also work with individual directors on boards personally to help them navigate through potential personal liability issues. The Candidate Required The successful candidate will ideally: Scottish or English qualified; have gained experience in a commercial firm but be willing to learn new skills; be a team player, able to forge strong working relationships with colleagues both in the office and in an agile environment; be technically strong and exercise good commercial judgment; have the interpersonal skills necessary for this client-facing role; and have a “can-do” attitude and be willing to work with colleagues and partners collaboratively and enthusiastically on both transactions and practice development.
