Pensions Litigation Associate
London / Manchester

Brief

We are seeking a Pensions Litigation Associate with NQ-6 years PQE to join our pensions team in London or Manchester.

The Pensions Team

Pinsent Masons LLP boasts one of the UK’s largest and most robust pensions law teams, with offices in Glasgow, Edinburgh, London, Birmingham, Manchester, and Leeds. We advise on all non-contentious and contentious pensions law issues.

Our team comprises 19 partners and approximately 40 lawyers. Our work includes:

  • Risk transfer transactions advising trustees, employers, and insurance companies
  • Providing advice to pension providers, administrators, and master trusts
  • Investment work in collaboration with our funds and sustainable finance teams
  • Transaction support in both public and private sectors, including restructurings
  • Litigation involving professional negligence, rectification, beneficiary representation, Pensions Ombudsman matters, and regulatory investigations

We serve large, complex pension schemes and financial institutions, focusing on restructurings, de-risking, and investment arrangements. Our expertise in pension buy-in and buy-out transactions and pensions litigation is highly sought after.

Our pensions litigation team is led by Partner Hayley Goldstone, a nationally recognized expert. The team specializes in resolving complex issues such as professional negligence, rectification claims, and regulatory investigations. Known for strategic insight and pragmatic solutions, we advise trustees, employers, and insurers across diverse sectors. Our team’s technical expertise and collaborative approach enable us to deliver commercially focused solutions for challenging pensions litigation matters.

The Candidate – what are we looking for?

The ideal candidate will have experience in pensions and/or litigation. They should possess technical excellence, strong communication skills, common sense, and the ability to build good relationships with colleagues and clients. Commercial awareness and enthusiasm for business development, including face-to-face client engagement and networking, are essential.
