The Energy & Natural Resources sector is a strategic priority, representing many of the world’s leading companies, financial institutions and Government/quasi-State entities, around the world across the full range of transactional, disputes, regulatory and investigations. The Head of Business Development - Energy & Natural Resources plays an important role alongside sector leadership, with co-responsibility for marshalling the firm’s resources to support our partners and associates in their pursuit of becoming our clients’ trusted advisers, building and maintaining client relationships, winning new clients, increasing the visibility of the firm globally, and positioning the firm as the thought leader. This role also leads a high performing and dedicated BD and Marketing team and reports to the Director of Business Development – Groups & Sectors. It is a high impact, high visibility role working as one team around the world. This role can be based out of any of our UK offices and our standard working hours are 9.30am-5.30pm, however as an inclusive employer, we are willing to consider any flexible working requests.

- Leadership in business development across the Energy & Natural Resources sector.
- Coordinating global resources and driving strategic planning and collaboration.
Candidate Overview:
- Extensive marketing and business development experience in a professional services environment (legal preferred) at a level of similar seniority.
- Able to drive strategic direction for business development activity, bringing expertise together across practices/offices.
- A track record of delivering high-impact change in large professional services environments.
- Previous experience of working in a global sector or industry focused role is desirable with strong knowledge of global business development requirements.
- Track record of managing multiple senior stakeholders, able to drive partner and colleague buy-in and managing change in a partnership environment.
- Be an experienced people manager, developing colleagues and building high performing teams.
- Experience of effective budget management and risk reporting to enable business planning and management information.
- Able to evidence being commercially astute and pragmatic; developing workable, realistic ideas.
- Be an excellent team player and exhibit behaviours consistent with the firm's core values of approachable, bold and connected.
