Managing Senior Associate to join our market-leading Technology, Media & Telecommunications (TMT) team.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with a talent and market-leading Tier 1 ranked team, advising on some of the most innovative, complex and business-critical technology and digital transformation projects in the UK and internationally.
Our team is recognised for advising clients on large-scale technology procurements, outsourcing arrangements, digital transformation programmes, telecommunications projects, cloud and AI-enabled solutions, data-driven services and emerging technology initiatives across a range of sectors.
This role offers the opportunity to work with major corporate clients, technology providers, financial institutions and public sector organisations on strategically important projects that sit at the intersection of technology, innovation and regulation.
While experience advising public sector clients would be advantageous, it is not essential.
The Opportunity
You will become a key member of a highly regarded team that advises on technology sourcing, outsourcing, telecommunications, digital infrastructure and next-generation technology projects.
Working closely with Simon Colvin, Diane Mullenex, Angus Mc Fadyen and Chris Martin, you will advise clients on transformational programmes that are critical to their future growth and success.
You will have the opportunity to work across a diverse range of sectors, supporting clients through the procurement, implementation and management of complex technology solutions and commercial arrangements.
As a Managing Senior Associate and with the support of the Partners, you will often be the day-to-day lead on client matters as well as overseeing junior lawyers, building client relationships and contributing to the continued growth of the practice.
What You'll Do
Bring your expertise in technology, commercial contracts and digital transformation to a team trusted by many of the world's leading organisations.
Your responsibilities will include
- Advising on complex technology procurements, outsourcing arrangements and managed service agreements.
- Leading negotiations relating to software development, software licensing, Saa S, cloud computing and technology implementation projects.
- Supporting major digital transformation and business change programmes across a range of sectors.
- Advising clients on telecommunications, digital infrastructure and connectivity projects, including next-generation technology initiatives.
- Providing strategic advice on the legal and commercial implications of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, data-driven services and digital platforms.
- Drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements, service arrangements and technology contracts.
- Managing workstreams on large, multi-jurisdictional projects involving multiple stakeholders.
- Supervising and developing junior lawyers and supporting their technical and professional growth.
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships, acting as a trusted adviser on strategic technology matters.
- Supporting business development initiatives, client presentations, thought leadership and market engagement activities.
- About The Team
Pinsent Masons' TMT practice is recognised as one of the leading technology law practices in the market, advising clients across technology, telecommunications, financial services, infrastructure, energy, transport and the public sector.
You will work closely with colleagues across our wider commercial, data, regulatory, corporate and disputes practices to deliver integrated advice to clients facing increasingly complex technology challenges.
The culture within the team is high-performing and well-balanced.
There is ample opportunity to take on long-term project work, embed yourself with clients and benefit from seeing major projects through from start to finish.
What We're Looking For
We are seeking an experienced lawyer with a strong technology and commercial contracts background who can combine technical excellence with commercial pragmatism.
You will ideally demonstrate
- Significant post-qualification experience in technology, commercial or TMT law.
- Strong experience advising on technology contracts, outsourcing or digital transformation projects.
- Excellent drafting and negotiation skills.
- Experience managing complex matters and competing stakeholder interests.
- Strong client relationship and matter management capabilities.
- Commercial awareness and enthusiasm for innovation and emerging technologies.
- An interest in mentoring and developing junior team members.
- A collaborative approach and ability to work across sectors and jurisdictions.
