We’re looking for a pro-active and ambitious lawyer to join our top-tier London team as a Senior Associate (4-7 PQE), offering the opportunity to develop your expertise across both commercial litigation and international arbitration within a leading global disputes practice.
The Opportunity
This is an ideal role for a lawyer who enjoys variety and is keen to build a broad disputes practice, working across complex, high-value matters while developing their profile and taking on increasing responsibility. As part of our integrated Litigation, Regulatory & Tax practice, you’ll work closely with colleagues across international arbitration, commercial litigation, and our wider sector teams.
What You’ll Do
- You will play a key role advising on a broad mix of commercial litigation and international arbitration matters, including investor-state arbitration, with the scope to shape your focus whether that is litigation, arbitration, or a combination of both.
- Advise on a wide range of commercial disputes including contractual, corporate and financial services disputes and civil fraud across a broad range of industry sectors.
- Support and lead litigation and arbitration proceedings (LCIA, ICC and ad hoc) as well as high-stakes investor-state arbitrations (ICSID and UNCITRAL).
- Manage disputes across all stages from pre-action through to resolution.
- Draft court and arbitration documents including pleadings and evidence.
- Work collaboratively across our offices globally on cross-border mandates.
- Take ownership of workstreams with support from senior colleagues.
- Build client relationships and contribute to business development.
What We’re Looking For
- England & Wales qualified lawyer with 4-7 PQE.
- Experience in complex high-value disputes (litigation and/or international arbitration).
- Exposure to cross-border matters desirable.
- Excellent case management skills.
- Client focus and commitment to first-class service with a view to developing client facing skills.
- Strong technical and commercial judgement.
- A strong work ethic demonstrated by a proven track record of meeting standard hours target.
- Personable and collegiate mindset demonstrated by good working relationships with colleagues, clients and external organisations.
- A willingness to engage in business development opportunities including client secondments.
- A genuine interest in working flexibly across commercial litigation and arbitration.
