This is a leadership role within the Business Development function, reporting to the Director of Business Development - Groups & Sectors. You will act as a trusted adviser, helping to shape how we go to market and support priority growth areas, aligning approaches across our global practice groups and sectors. Both strategic and operational in nature, you will lead the firm's approach to the US market, working closely with senior partners to prioritise focus, build consensus and execute BD and marketing - while also leading a BD and marketing team focused on International Development Markets, including but not limited to China, India, Central & Eastern Europe.

You will develop and lead go-to-market plans that enhance Pinsent Masons ability to deliver exceptional client experience, build lasting relationships, originate work and enhance the firm's reputation, leveraging data-driven insights. This role can be based out of any of our UK offices and our standard working hours are 9.30am-5.30pm, with 3 days in the office, 2 days from home hybrid split; however, as an inclusive employer, we are willing to consider any flexible working requests.

We are looking for exceptional candidates who ideally hold the following skills, knowledge and experience:

  • Significant experience of US Markets - including client facing activity / deal origination
  • Experience of emerging or development markets (ie. China, India, Central & Eastern Europe, Africa, LatAm)
  • Experience taking a direct and active role in relationship management, including outbound and inbound roadshows, client meetings and third-party strategic alliances with local counsel law firms and trade bodies/associations
  • Experienced in sales enablement supporting client acquisition and fee generation by building activation assets - sales playbooks, infographics, digital assets, event presentations, etc, ensuring high quality and proactive BD and marketing across clients and markets
  • Proven experience developing products and propositions targeting specific markets in collaboration with sectors, practice groups and client teams, bringing the best of Pinsent Masons to bear on opportunities and client experience
  • Strong ability to leverage data-driven insights to develop cross-selling opportunities across sector, practice group and client teams
  • Experience of developing high-impact, targeted thought leadership and targeted profile-raising initiatives aligned with focus areas
  • Track record in developing scalable infrastructure to support high growth markets ensuring high quality BD and marketing support
  • Established in conducting annual deep dive reviews, assessing performance against plan, conducting clients and market research and driving continuous improvement and accountability
  • Demonstrable experience leading and developing teams across jurisdictions within professional services firms
  • Willingness to travel as required in support of work-winning and relationship activity
