The role would be ideally suited to an experienced Senior Exec looking for that next step in their career.

Working closely with the Head of Business Development and sector leadership, you will take ownership of key priorities, develop relationships with priority clients and targets, and identify commercial opportunities across our international network. You will have the opportunity to work with leading retail and consumer brands, including organisations in the luxury market, prominent hospitality businesses and leading names in sport. This is an opportunity to join a developing sector with strong momentum across the firm. Retail and consumer will sit at the heart of the position, alongside work spanning luxury brands, hospitality and sport. You will be encouraged to bring energy, ambition and fresh thinking, taking ownership of opportunities and driving them forward with the support of the wider team.

At Pinsent Masons, your career is exceptional by design, intentionally shaped to support high performance, meaningful development and long-term progression.

What you’ll do

  • Bring your experience to the table and play a key role in the success of our firm, building trusted relationships and delivering meaningful impact, including:
  • Develop and deliver business development plans for key areas of the Retail, Sport & Hospitality sector, aligned with the firm’s wider strategy and growth ambitions.
  • Turn market, client and competitor intelligence into practical opportunities, target lists and recommendations for sector leadership.
  • Develop compelling, client-centred propositions, campaigns, events and thought leadership that respond to emerging client needs and support the sector’s commercial priorities.
  • Build and manage actionable plans for priority clients and targets, supporting partners to deepen relationships and convert new business opportunities.
  • Lead client targeting, pitch strategy and pursuit management, coordinating activity across practices, sectors, international offices and business functions.
  • Act as a trusted adviser to senior stakeholders, taking ownership of sector initiatives, constructively challenging where appropriate and maintaining momentum through to delivery.

What you’ll bring

  • Relevant business development or marketing experience gained within professional services, a partnership or a similarly complex stakeholder environment.
  • Experience of client development, identifying growth opportunities and contributing to sector, market or client-focused business development plans.
  • A commercial, energetic and proactive approach, with the confidence to take ownership of priorities and drive activity forward.
  • The ability to build credibility with senior stakeholders, develop strong relationships and influence constructively.
  • Strong organisational, analytical and communication skills, with the ability to turn commercial insight into practical business development opportunities.
  • A collaborative and resilient approach, together with sound judgement, professionalism and the adaptability to succeed in a fast-moving environment.

Knowledge of retail, sport, hospitality or an adjacent consumer-facing sector would be advantageous but is not essential.
