We are recruiting a Business Development Manager for our Vario global alternative legal services practice (ALSP). This role will lead the design and delivery of high-impact marketing and business development activity that builds brand visibility, client engagement and pipeline growth across Vario’s Managed Legal Services, Consulting, Flexible Services and CoSec offerings. This role is pivotal in driving sustainable revenue growth, enhancing client relationships, and positioning Vario as the market leader.
You will be responsible for leading the marketing team to build profile, nurture networks and generate qualified opportunities, and community engagement. You will help identify opportunities and provide business intelligence on key competitors, to ensure promotion of our people, products and services in the key markets. You will have deep knowledge of the go-to-market channels and be accountable for campaign activity across web, social media, managing events and communications such as client-facing thought leadership, brochures or guides, and internal promotional materials.
Our standard working hours are 9.30am–5.30pm, and we operate a 3 days in the office, 2 days from home working model; however, as an inclusive employer, we are willing to consider any flexible working requests.
We are looking for candidates who ideally hold the following skills and experience:
- Significant experience in a business development and/or marketing role within a professional services or partnership environment – ideally in an established alternative legal services (ALSP) or legal consulting.
- Proven delivery of integrated marketing campaigns, thought leadership and events linked to revenue growth, client engagement and building brand awareness.
- Experience working closely with senior stakeholders to support growth through execution of the marketing and communications plans in order to enhance the profile and win mandates for the relevant services lines.
- Strong experience designing and implementing Account-Based Marketing (ABM) strategies to penetrate and expand key client accounts, ensuring full alignment between marketing and sales efforts.
- Proven ability to conduct market research and provide business intelligence on key ALSP competitors and trends, identifying ways of gaining a competitive advantage.
- Highly organized and resilient, with a disciplined and data driven approach to activity planning and forecasting.
- Strong experience managing and developing marketing collateral, content and campaigns across multiple channels.
- Experience enhancing an already effective and well-established team, taking a high performing team to the next level.
