About The Role
We are looking for a proactive Strategic Finance Manager to join our Financial Planning & Analysis team. This role will lead on all financial planning and analysis relating to the firm’s international expansion, supporting the firm’s leadership in evaluating and deciding on international investment opportunities. This person will be key in the process of taking an initial opportunity through the many stages of evaluation and decision making through to integration, at which point they will work with the Financial Operations team to ensure a smooth transition.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the Finance lead on all international projects (primarily acquisitive) with responsibility for planning and analysing the project from a Finance perspective. This will be from the initial due diligence phase through to Board level business case and finally budgeting and forecasting once integrated.
- Take primary responsibility for producing any international office financial models in our standard Adaptive Planning model using the agreed firm methodology.
- Act as lead Finance representative, liaising with the Project Sponsor and new partner teams, providing financial information or facilitating liaison with Finance colleagues where more appropriate to do so.
- Contribute alongside Financial Operations colleagues to the identification of financial risks associated with the project.
- Liaise with the financial control and tax teams to ensure that appropriate local GAAP reporting processes are set up in advance to meet local regulatory and tax requirements and that the timetable for these reports is fully understood as the office moves to BAU.
- During periods when international activity is quieter, take a lead role on other Finance projects as requested by the Head of FP&A.
About You
The ideal candidate will have the following:
Qualifications
- Qualified Accountant, preferably 10 years+ PQE
Relevant Experience & Skills
- Minimum 5 years of experience of working in a senior finance role with extensive international experience.
- Extensive financial modelling & planning experience.
- Some operational finance or tax experience particularly with an international context would be beneficial but not vital.
- Experience with Adaptive Planning and Tableau helpful.
- Commercial mindset with an ability to present complex financial analysis such that it supports critical strategic decision making.
- Tenacious and able to influence and challenge Partners, particularly with respect to revenue forecasts and growth trajectories.
- Ability to work autonomously with minimal guidance.
- Ability to manage conflicting priorities effectively to meet deadlines and to support the Finance team in doing the same.
- Legal or other professional services sector experience highly desirable.
- Project management experience advantageous.
- Team player who will pitch in to support others when they have capacity.
