Pinsent Masons is looking for a Client Development Manager on an initial 12-month fixed term contract to cover a period of family leave, ideally running from January 2027, to support our Technology, Science and Industry sector, providing strategic client development and relationship management across a portfolio of key clients.

Working across our global network, you will bring together the firm’s people, knowledge and capabilities to strengthen long-term client relationships.

The role offers a compelling blend of hands-on responsibility for at least two high-profile clients alongside broader portfolio management, giving you the opportunity to influence strategic priorities, retain revenue and drive profitable growth.

You will work closely with Relationship Partners, client teams, sector leadership and Business Development colleagues to translate client intelligence and market insight into focused relationship development plans and new business opportunities.

At Pinsent Masons, your career is exceptional by design - intentionally shaped to support high performance, meaningful development and long-term progression.

  • What You’ll Do
  • Take hands-on, and at times client-facing, responsibility for at least two key clients, working with Relationship Partners and client teams to develop and implement strategic relationship plans.
  • Proactively manage a wider portfolio of clients, helping to retain existing revenue and identify opportunities for profitable growth.
  • Support the Head of Business Development and Sector Head with key-account priorities, objectives and deliverables.
  • Use client intelligence, market developments and emerging themes to identify growth opportunities and develop targeted engagement plans and campaigns.
  • Bring together relevant expertise and resources from across our global network, championing collaboration, intelligence sharing and the identification of new business opportunities.
  • Share client and market insight with sector leadership and contribute to the development of effective relationship-management practices, processes, systems and resources.
  • What You’ll Bring
  • Previous professional-services (ideally legal) account management or client relationship development experience, with a track record of client retention and growth.
  • Experience developing and delivering strategic client initiatives and using client data and market insight to identify opportunities.
  • Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to interpret client needs, market trends and wider business developments.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and maintain long-term internal and external relationships.
  • A proactive and collaborative approach, supported by strong organisation, time management and attention to detail.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point, together with an interest in using available AI tools to improve efficiency.
  • Knowledge or experience of the Technology, Science and Industry sector would be beneficial but is not essential for someone able to develop their knowledge quickly.
