Role Overview

Vario is a market leading alternative legal services provider within the law firm, Pinsent Masons. It is unique in the legal sector. Vario is a practice group within Pinsent Masons which incorporates Flexible Services, Consulting and Technology, Legal Project Management and Managed Legal Services (MLS). This role sits within our MLS team.

As the Vario team grows, we are recruiting a Delivery Manager to support our MLS Delivery teams in ensuring that we are delivering a world class legal service to our practice groups and external clients. The role will support our engagement strategies with both sectors and groups and focus on the pastoral care and development of our legal delivery teams and their capabilities.

The successful candidate will:

  • Line manage a team of paralegals focused on delivery of work to both Pinsent Masons lawyers and external clients. This will include day to day supervision, training and development and management of direct reports.
  • Supervise the delivery of legal services to end users.
  • Service delivery management support on engagements as required. This includes resource planning, QA, output/efficiency reviews and progress reporting.
  • Continually develop delivery models to ensure best in class service.
  • Develop effective working relationships across relevant practice groups and sectors.
  • Work with Resource Management to effectively manage the allocation of work and monitor/manage capacity and workload levels.
  • Engage with sectors and groups across the firm to identify and develop new service offerings within the cyber, privacy and data space.

Our standard working hours are 9.30am-5.30pm, however, we are happy to consider flexible working requests. Please note, this is a 12-month fixed term contract.

Candidate Overview

We are looking for candidates who ideally hold the following skills and experience:

  • Significant experience and knowledge of legal requirements relating to Data Protection, Privacy & Cyber Security.
  • Experience processing DSARs, managing cyber breaches, and drafting privacy policies.
  • Skilled in negotiating and drafting data protection agreements and conducting DTIAs.
  • Ability to maintain accurate ROPAs and compliance documentation.
  • Alternative legal service experience.
  • Demonstrable experience of managing a high performing team of legal professionals.
  • Experience of managing the delivery of legal services in a high volume, multi-location environment.
  • Experience of influencing stakeholders in a large commercial law firm to promote the benefits of utilising alternative service delivery.
  • Significant experience of working with performance metrics to ensure best in class delivery.
