We are recruiting a Credit Controller on a 6 month fixed term contract to ensure prompt collection of the firm’s unpaid bills ledger in accordance with the firm’s credit policy. The team is based in our Birmingham office. Our standard working hours are 9.30am-5.30pm; however, we are happy to consider flexible working requests.
Candidate Overview
We are looking for candidates who ideally hold the following skills and experience:
- Support the Credit Control team in chasing overdue debts by telephone, email and letter up to litigation.
- Follow up unpaid bills with Partners and Lawyers.
- Liaise with internal teams and Partners to minimise and quickly resolve queries.
- Build strong relationships with Internal and External Clients.
- Work in a team of Credit Controllers.
- Responsible for the collection of debt within specific departments minimising exposure to bad debts through effective credit and risk management whilst maintaining and building strong internal and external client relationships.
- Generate monthly debtor reports for Partners and Lawyers and statements to clients.
- Promote proactive contact with clients and fee earners in the pursuit of swift payment of bills.
- Attend regular aged debt review meetings with Partners to discuss and resolve problem debts.
- Deal with allocation of cash receipts and queries.
- Meet deadlines and monthly cash targets.
- Be proactive in reducing DFO.
- Sales ledger maintenance.
- Provide cover for other groups as and when required.
- Any other ad hoc task that may be required in the course of the day-to-day activities of the department.
