Job Description
Employment Senior Associate or Managing Senior Associate – 4+ years’ PQE. Positions available in Birmingham, Leeds and Manchester.
Overview
The team has over 60 employment lawyers across the UK, providing both national and international coverage.
The successful candidate will work with the wider team and be based in the city that best suits them.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic employment law advice across a commercial practice.
- Handle complex employment tribunal claims, including discrimination, whistle‑blowing, restructuring and redundancy matters.
- Advise on senior‑level employment issues such as executive recruitment, termination, compensation arrangements and enforcement of restrictive covenants.
- Deal with cross‑border information and consultation matters, benefit redesign and global mobility.
- Support high‑value and High Court litigation where required.
- Deliver solutions in the M&A and outsourcing space.
- Develop client relationships and contribute to multi‑disciplinary cross‑office initiatives.
Qualifications
- Minimum four years’ experience in a commercial employment practice.
- Strong technical and market knowledge with experience in strategic employment law.
- Experience with complex tribunals, restructuring, senior grievances, executive issues and high‑value litigation is desirable.
- Strong academic background and excellent communication skills.
- Commercial awareness and understanding of operating within a large international firm.
- Team player with a desire to help grow the team and engage in cross‑office initiatives.
