We are recruiting a Talent Acquisition Assistant on an initial maternity cover contract to run until the end of July 2027. The role supports the coordination and delivery of recruitment activity across the firm, ensuring a high-quality and efficient service to both internal stakeholders and candidates. The team is spread between Manchester and Birmingham, and the role can be based in either location. This role would suit someone operating at a junior level in an in-house role looking for a step up and more direct candidate engagement, or someone working in a busy agency looking for their first move in-house.

Successful applicants will be given the opportunity to gain exposure to high-volume recruitment and niche single-hire activity, develop candidate engagement skills, and build experience within a professional services environment. Our standard working hours are 9.30am-5.30pm, and we operate a 3 days in the office, 2 days from home working model, although we are willing to consider any flexible working requests.

We are looking for candidates who ideally hold the following skills and experience:

  • Experience in recruitment, resourcing, or wider talent acquisition within a corporate or professional services environment.
  • Experience managing high volumes of candidate applications, including CV handling and administration, across multiple service lines.
  • Exposure to candidate sourcing and screening activity including direct candidate engagement via various methods (phone, video calls, email etc).
  • Proven ability to coordinate interviews and manage recruitment processes end-to-end.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement experience, with a client first mentality.
  • Experience working with recruitment systems or databases to manage candidate information accurately.
  • Able to evidence a forward-thinking nature, to be able to horizon scan and see opportunities or threats before they arise.

We typically hold two interview stages per vacancy providing the opportunity to meet two members of the hiring team at each stage. The first stage is typically conducted virtually and the second stage typically in person at the office in which the role would be based. We strive to remain flexible depending on the requirements of the role or the candidate.
