We’re excited to be growing our Pensions team and are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys supporting people, staying organised and being part of a team that works closely together. As our new Pensions Officer, you’ll play an important part in helping us deliver an outstanding service to our clients and supporting our national PMPS team day‑to‑day. If you enjoy variety, working with friendly colleagues and having a real impact on how a team functions, you’ll fit right in.
PMPS provides practical, commercially focused consultancy and governance services for large, complex pension arrangements. Its multidisciplinary team combines legal, consultancy and administrative expertise to support DB, DC and master trust schemes. These reach across sectors including financial services, energy, manufacturing and retail, typically ranging from £500M to £5BN in assets. Clients include high street banks, large energy companies, manufacturing companies and high street retailers. PMPS works closely with senior stakeholders such as trustee Chairs, HR and Finance Directors and business leaders. It also incorporates Trustee Solutions Limited, a professional independent trustee responsible for large commercial group life master trusts covering over 750,000 employees.
This role is perfect for someone who wants to learn and thrive in a supportive environment. Someone who is organised, flexible and is interested in building relationships with clients and colleagues. You’ll get involved in:
- Being a friendly, reliable point of contact for routine client queries
- Organising meeting papers and coordinating with advisers
- Attending client and adviser meetings
- Conducting research and supporting knowledge management projects
- Helping prepare and monitor project plans
- Helping prepare call notes and monitor actions from client meetings
- Helping deliver training sessions and client materials
- Keeping client documents organised and up to date
- Drafting clear, professional correspondence
- Supporting our billing process and preparing fee documents
- Managing scheme returns and regulatory information
- Supporting new business and client development activities
- Attending events to represent PMPS and to build your own network of contacts
Your work will make a real difference — you’ll be the person who helps the whole team deliver seamlessly.
We’d love to hear from you if you’re someone who:
- Is working towards (or keen to begin) a PMI qualification
- Has some basic pensions knowledge and a willingness to grow and learn
- Enjoys working as part of a supportive team
- Is keen to build strong team and client relationships
- Is a clear, confident communicator
- Is comfortable using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and document systems
- Has excellent attention to detail
- Can manage competing deadlines without getting flustered
- Likes finding better ways of doing things
- Is proactive, adaptable and able to work independently when needed
If you’re enthusiastic and eager to develop, you’ll thrive here.
