Are you ready to be challenged and grow your skills in a dynamic workshop environment? We’re looking for a motivated HGV and Trailer Technician to join our team and play a key role in maintaining our fleet of Walking Floor and HGV vehicles to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carrying out vehicle and trailer safety inspections, servicing, defect repairs, MOT preparations, and breakdown support.
  • Maintaining vehicle ancillaries and specialist body applications.
  • Supporting mobile and fixed plant maintenance when required.
  • Ensuring accurate and compliant maintenance records.
  • Updating our Freeway system with defect rectification and repair logs.
  • Communicating effectively with operations teams regarding downtime and repair status.
  • Assisting with asset onboarding, decommissioning, and refurbishment projects.
  • Ensure fleet compliance with DVSA and Operator’s Licence standards.
  • Prepare trailers for MOT and refurbish assets (e.g. floor replacements).
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area in line with SSOW and H&S guidelines.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Essential:

  • Solid understanding of workshop maintenance systems.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel, and tablet use.
  • Holder of a C1+E licence.

Desirable:

  • IRTEC qualification (training provided if not held).
  • Experience with Freeway or similar fleet management systems.
