CDL is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Business Analyst to join our agile, cross-functional software engineering teams. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about understanding business needs, driving continuous improvement, and helping deliver high-quality technology solutions that create value for our customers.
Working closely with Product Managers, the wider Business Analysts team, and Software Engineering teams, you will play a key role in eliciting, analysing, and documenting business requirements. You will support the successful delivery of application and process enhancements throughout the full software development lifecycle, ensuring business objectives are translated into effective and scalable solutions.
As CDL continues to evolve its AI-Driven Development Lifecycle (AI-DLC), you will play an important role in shaping requirements, validating AI-generated outputs, and ensuring solutions deliver value in a safe, effective and sustainable way. You will work across business, product and technology teams, helping navigate complexity and turn outcomes into actionable delivery plans.

What You'll Do:
- Actively participate and contribute to the Analyst community of practice, sharing experiences and knowledge with other analysts.
- Maintain and increase knowledge of design processes, tools, analysis best practice and architecture of CDL applications.
- Operate with a continuous improvement mindset towards the products they look after.
- Liaise with Product Owners to identify value and develop requirements.
- Develop requirements storyboards and write user stories with the squad.
- Work with the squad to refine backlog and prepare tickets for sprint planning using INVEST criteria.
- Carry incident management and investigation based on set priorities.
- Work with cross-functional teams to solve problems and develop solutions.
- Write scoping briefs and solution design documents.
- Contribute to a BA community of practice to improve skills and working practices.
- Facilitate workshops in person and online.
- Manage technical, product and business stakeholder groups.
About You:
- You have experience eliciting, analysing and documenting business requirements, translating them into clear user stories and supporting the maintenance of a prioritised product backlog.
- You are confident in identifying, analysing and helping solve business problems, working collaboratively with stakeholders to shape effective solutions.
- You demonstrate a proactive approach to learning and are keen to develop your understanding of CDL's products, services and technologies.
- You can clearly and concisely define complex problems, helping teams understand challenges and identify appropriate solutions.
- You enjoy working collaboratively within agile, cross-functional teams and actively contribute to ceremonies such as stand-ups, sprint planning and retrospectives.
- You are comfortable creating and maintaining documentation, including process flows, diagrams and other analysis artefacts using appropriate tools.
- You have a good understanding of the software development lifecycle and how business analysis supports successful delivery.
- You have experience working closely with Product, Engineering, QA and other business stakeholders in cross-functional delivery teams.
- You are confident using Jira to manage requirements, support backlog refinement and track delivery activity.
- You have an awareness of cloud technologies, ideally including AWS services and solutions.
- You are comfortable working in an AI-enabled delivery environment, validating AI-generated outputs, challenging assumptions and ensuring solutions align with business needs and customer outcomes.
- You are curious, adaptable and capable of working through ambiguity to translate desired outcomes into clear, actionable requirements.
Desirable:
- AWS Cloud Practitioner certification.
- Experience working with AWS serverless architectures.
- Experience within the insurance or financial services sector.
- Exposure to AI-driven delivery approaches and an understanding of how AI can support business analysis and software development lifecycles.
