Are you passionate about developing future leaders and making a lasting impact on learners’ careers? Sandwell College is seeking a highly qualified, experienced and inspirational Lecturer in Management and Leadership to join our dynamic and rapidly growing School of Management and Inclusive Leadership. This is an exciting opportunity to deliver innovative, employment-focused programmes that equip learners with the skills, confidence and professional expertise needed to excel in management and leadership roles.

The role includes teaching across daytime, evening and online synchronous provision and will require the regular delivery of at least two evening sessions per week. The successful candidate will also contribute to employer engagement activities, curriculum development and the continued growth of the College's management and leadership provision. Working alongside a high-performing team, you will play a key role in shaping the next generation of leaders while contributing to the continued growth and success of one of the College’s most ambitious curriculum areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver impactful teaching and learning experiences across a range of management and leadership courses from levels 3 to 7 and in a variety of learning environments.
  • Develop and prepare high-quality teaching materials, resources, and assessments that meet learner needs and encourage active and self-managed learning.
  • Support with the development, assessment and quality assurance of Management and Leadership programmes, ensuring compliance with awarding body standards, Ofsted, and OfS requirements.
  • Use Information Learning Technology (ILT) and emerging technologies to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Supervise student research projects, dissertations, and work placements where appropriate.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • A Master’s degree and/or equivalent Level 7 Professional Qualification in Management and/or Leadership or related subject area.
  • A Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) or Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training (DET) or an equivalent qualification.
  • At least two years’ experience delivering successful professional Management and Leadership courses to adult learners in an FE/HE setting or similar training environment.
  • At least two years’ experience in a substantial middle/senior Management or Leadership role.
  • The ability to inspire and motivate learners of different ages and ability levels.
Teaching Qualifications & Salary Banding

To be eligible for our Qualified Lecturer salary banding (£31,837 - £48,160), you must hold one of the following teaching qualifications:

  • DTTLS (Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector)
  • Certificate in Education
  • PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education)
  • ProfGCE (Professional Graduate Certificate in Education)
  • DET (Diploma in Education and Training)
  • DiT (Diploma in Teaching) – if for a vocational subject

If you do not hold one of the above qualifications, you will fall into our Unqualified Lecturer salary banding (£26,661 - £29,998).
