About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Field Engineer with a strong background in motor engineering and claims. This role requires expertise in vehicle inspection, repair cost negotiation, and claims management, supporting both customers and internal teams to deliver high-quality outcomes. You will play a key role in assessing vehicle damage, providing valuations, and managing total loss settlements across a wide variety of vehicle types.
What will your day look like:
- Produce accurate, detailed, and high-quality engineering reports
- Assess, value, and negotiate vehicle repair costs
- Provide fair and accurate vehicle valuations
- Negotiate total loss settlements
- Apply detailed knowledge of salvage categories
- Manage claims through to resolution
- Liaise with repairers, customers, and internal teams
- Support colleagues and contribute to team success
Knowledge and Abilities:
Essential:
- Qualified to IAEA or ATA (VDA) standard
- Experience within insurer or independent engineering environment
- Strong understanding of claims processes and salvage categorisation
- Experience using estimating systems (e.g. Audatex, GT Motive, Glass’s)
- Ability to inspect a wide range of vehicles including:
- Cars
- HGVs
- Agricultural machinery
- Caravans
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
- Effective time management and prioritisation skills

- AQP qualification
