About The Role: Our client is looking for someone to join their Finance Team, initially on a 6 month fixed term contract basis, to help support the business through a significant period of change. You will be supporting the fractional CFO with the day to day Finance needs. This will be a broad role encompassing transactional finance and bookkeeping, weekly and monthly reporting cycles, year end statutory reporting, tax compliance and much more.
Role Responsibilities:
- Month end: Calculate and post all month end journals, including accruals, prepayment, depreciation and adjustments. Review the numbers to ensure that they are complete and correct, and produce month end reporting.
- Bookkeeping: Ensure that Xero is kept up to date with daily, weekly and monthly transaction postings, and that all accounts are fully reconciled.
- Processes & Controls: Ensure the business has appropriate financial processes and controls in place and that these are maintained and updated as necessary.
- Business partnering: Work with key stakeholders across the business to ensure that they have appropriate financial support, particularly around budget vs actual spends.
- Payroll: Work with the external payroll provider to ensure that all payroll is complete and correct, and payments are made.
- Accounts payable: Create and process the weekly payment runs, with the support of the Finance Assistant.
- Weekly sales reporting: Assist the MD with weekly sales reporting.
- Year End: Support the CFO in the year end close process and liaising with the external accountants to facilitate their work.
- Tax Compliance: Assist the corporate tax advisors with completion of the annual corporation tax returns, and relevant Beer Duty returns for HMRC.
- Invoice Financing Facility: Manage the drawdown process and recourse list.
About You:
- Relevant accountancy qualification (part or fully qualified) - ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent
- Experience of an end to end Finance function for an SME, including bookkeeping and month end close processes
- Experience of working with key senior stakeholders
- Demonstrable experience of strong communication skills
- Strong Excel skills
- Good knowledge of the Xero accounting package
