Data Architect – London, Hybrid

Role Overview:

Pinnova Talent is proud to partner with a leading financial services organisation to recruit a forward-thinking Data Architect. This is a strategic role focused on shaping enterprise-wide data architecture, with a strong emphasis on governance, compliance, and cloud-native transformation.

You’ll lead the design and implementation of scalable data frameworks across structured and unstructured content, enabling smarter decision-making, regulatory alignment, and digital innovation. The ideal candidate combines technical depth with strong stakeholder engagement and a passion for building future-ready data ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy & Architecture –

  • Develop and implement enterprise-wide data governance frameworks, including ownership models, metadata strategy, and lifecycle policies
  • Define retention, access, and usage standards across data domains
  • Translate business needs into scalable data architecture across data lakes, warehouses, and content platforms
  • Governance & Leadership
  • Establish and chair a cross-functional Data Governance Council
  • Collaborate with data owners, stewards, and custodians to embed governance across departments

Quality & Compliance –

  • Define and enforce data quality metrics and standards
  • Ensure alignment with regulatory frameworks including GDPR and CCPA
  • Technology & Enablement
  • Evaluate and deploy modern data platforms and tooling (e.g. ETL services, data catalogues)
  • Support the adoption of cloud-native technologies across analytics and storage layers

Culture & Capability –

  • Champion a data-first mindset through training and awareness initiatives
  • Support role-specific enablement for data owners and custodians
  • Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and best practice development

Candidate Skills & Experience:

Essential –

  • Strong foundation in data architecture and modelling (conceptual, logical, physical)
  • Experience with data warehousing, data lakes, and master data management
  • Hands-on expertise in data integration, orchestration, and ETL/ELT pipelines
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, Fabric, PowerBI) and relational databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL)
  • Minimum 3-4 years’ experience in a relevant data architecture role
  • Previous experience in financial services, or investment banking, FinTech

Desirable –

  • Certifications such as Azure/Fabric Data Engineer Associate or SnowPro Advanced Architect
  • Experience designing analytics platforms in financial services or investment domains
