The Opportunity We are looking for an experienced Procurement Lead to join a growing business operating within the civil engineering, groundworks and infrastructure sectors.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially driven procurement professional who can take ownership of purchasing activities, manage key supplier relationships and support the successful delivery of major construction projects.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in procurement or supply chain management within civils, groundworks or construction , alongside fluent German language skills.
Key Responsibilities Lead procurement and supply chain activities across civil engineering and groundworks projects.
Source, negotiate and manage subcontractors, suppliers and materials.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers across the UK and Europe.
Negotiate commercial terms, contracts and pricing to achieve best value.
Work closely with project managers, commercial teams and site operations to ensure materials and services are delivered on time.
Identify opportunities for cost savings and supply chain improvements.
Manage procurement schedules, supplier performance and purchasing budgets.
Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and project requirements.
Requirements Proven experience in procurement, purchasing or supply chain management.
Background within civil engineering, groundworks, infrastructure or the wider construction industry .
Fluent German and English communication skills – essential.
EU passport holder or equivalent right to work and travel as required for the role.
Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
Experience managing suppliers, subcontractors and procurement contracts.
Excellent organisational and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple procurement priorities.
