Pinnacle Group are looking for an experienced Caretaker to ensure our buildings and facilities are well-maintained, secure, fully functional and Health & Safety compliant. You will be joining our Facilities Management team based at Abbey Wood School in Swindon. Your responsibilities will include performing routine maintenance, managing repairs, ensuring security protocols are followed and keeping the premises clean and orderly. You will need to be proactive, detail-oriented, and have excellent problem-solving skills. This is a full-time role with alternating shift patterns between the working hours of 6.30AM - 6PM.
Key responsibilities:
- Carry out day to day Caretaking duties according to the daily schedule such as attending to any repairs logged on the Help Desk or reported by Site Manager.
- Carrying out daily litter pick of School grounds, changing external bins, sweeping external areas, checking toilets etc.
- Carry out defined Planned Preventative Maintenance responsibilities in accordance with each School’s schedule such as, Twice weekly flushing of outlets, weekly Sprinkler Alarm test, Weekly Fire Alarm Test, Monthly Fire Door and Fire Extinguisher Checks etc.
- Respond to emergency situations such as floods, floor spillages, body fluid clean up and arranging temporary or permanent rectification in accordance with prescribed procedures and timescales.
- Carry out minor repairs and decoration works.
- Being proactive by noticing any deficiencies in the facilities and either rectifying if within capabilities, or bringing the defect to the attention of the Site Manager or Senior Caretaker.

- Range of general handyperson skills such as general DIY skills, minor plumbing, carpentry and electrical.
- Amenable and approachable personality.
- Ability to liaise with and assist external service providers.
- Ability to work in a team.
