# School Caretaker Superintendent## Job IntroductionPinnacle Group is looking for an experienced School Caretaker / Superintendent to our Total Facilities Cleaning Team based at a Horsforth Primary School, Leeds, LS18. To ensure our buildings and facilities are well-maintained and secure.The overall aim of the role is to ensure that the internal and external school facilities are available, fully functional, H&S compliant and aesthetically pleasing. This is a Permanent Role of 37½ hours per week – Monday to Friday –7am until 3pm, with the addition of gaining overtime available to cover out-of-hours activities, holidays and sickness coverIf you take pride in maintaining high standards and creating safe, welcoming environments, we would love to hear from you.**Who we are**Pinnacle Group is a leading UK private sector provider of housing and neighbourhood services, managing and maintaining communities where people live, learn, work and play.We’re a people-first organisation with a values-driven culture that has remained consistent for thirty years, living through how we treat our employees and our customers.**Who we’re looking for**We’re looking for someone who, alongside the key criteria below, will sign up to of Trust, Respect, Involve, Challenge and Deliver Excellence and will be determined to maintain the confidence of our clients and communities.**Main Daily Activities*** Ensure the security and integrity of the school buildings and grounds through locking and unlocking, patrols and monitoring third-party lettings.* Conduct initial investigations into reactive requests relating to deficiencies, carrying out repairs and reporting/escalating to the Line Manager* Carry out day–to–day duties according to the daily schedule, i.e. litter picking, sweeping, spot cleaning toilets and refreshing hand towels and toilet paper.* Carry out defined Planned Preventive Maintenance responsibilities in accordance with the school’s schedule and the individual’s skill base* Liaise with the Facilities Assistant daily to ensure that events/tasks are managed in an efficient and professional manner**Reactive Duties*** Carry out initial investigations into reactive requests made during the day and make temporary or permanent repairs or otherwise notify the helpdesk of the need to call in a service provider, in accordance with prescribed procedures and timescales* Respond to emergencies such as floods, bodily fluids and effecting temporary or permanent rectification in accordance with prescribed procedures and timescales* Respond to requests for the collection of parcels, movement of furniture, and rearrangement of rooms etc in accordance with prescribed procedures and timescales* Be observant for H&S issues and ensure that they are rectified or made safe and reported to management**General Duties*** Where appropriate, provide access, escort, liaise with and assist contractors on site* Carry out minor repairs and decoration works* Participate in cleaning/deep cleaning activities as and when required* Being proactive by noticing deficiencies in the facilities and either rectifying them if within capabilities or bringing the defect to the attention of management* Any other duties as assigned by management that relate to maintaining the facilities in a clean, functional and aesthetically pleasing state* Any other duties that the individual is suitably skilled or qualified to undertake* Be flexible in shift patterns to cover colleagues\’ absences due to sickness and annual leave* Overall line management of the Facilities Assistant and the on-site cleaning team.* Fault reporting and updating the helpdesk promptly**Out of Hours*** Be available for lettings of the premises outside of normal hours* Participate in providing an out-of-hours emergency call-out service in line with management instructions* Maintain communication in the event of any incidents to ensure the availability of school facilities**Skills Required*** Previous School Superintendent experience is desirable* Range of general handyman skills such as minor plumbing, carpentry, and electrical* Good communication skills in relation to managing relations with the school, external contractors and providers and reporting issues to the Line Manager.* Ability to liaise with and assist external service providers* Some IT knowledge is preferable to enable communication via email, completion of statutory documentation spreadsheets, and the use of smartphones/Tablets.* The appointment to this role will be subject to completion of a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Check with references**Our offer**The more diverse our workforce, the better we can adapt to and reflect the needs of our customers.We welcome applications from all backgrounds – particularly from those who represent the communities we serve.As a colleague, you will become part of an inclusive culture where you will have the opportunity to achieve your full potential and enhance your career through learning and development.We offer a wide range of benefits at Pinnacle Group, depending on your role or business area.
