Pinnacle Group are looking for a diligent Grounds Maintenance Operative/Greenkeeper to ensure our outdoor spaces are well-maintained and visually appealing. You will be joining our teams who are looking after the grounds on sites across the Castle Point area.

Our Soft Facilities Management division delivers essential services to homes, schools, universities and public sector organisations – including housing providers and blue light authorities. We focus on creating clean, safe and welcoming environments, with a commitment to quality, community impact and customer care.

This role will predominantly involve the maintenance and upkeep of Woodside Park in Benfleet. Your responsibilities will include mowing, trimming hedges, planting, weeding, and general landscape upkeep of grass verges, public gardens, children’s play areas and general sports pitch preparation.

You will have a keen eye for detail, be physically fit, and possess a strong work ethic. If you are passionate about creating and maintaining beautiful, safe outdoor environments, we would love to hear from you.

This is an ongoing position where you will do 29 hours per week in the winter months and hours then increase to 45 hours per week from April until the end of September during the busy summer period. Hours are as follows:

  • October to April: 7.30am to 2pm Monday to Thursday; 7.30am to 12pm on Fridays.
  • April to October: 6.30am to 4pm, Monday to Friday.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Fine turf preparation and renovation including that for bowls, croquet, cricket pitch and putt etc.
  • General sports preparation and renovation including (but not exclusive) to football, rugby, tennis and multi-use games areas. This includes lining and placement of goalposts.
  • General maintenance of grounds e.g. grass cutting, clearing of debris, leaves, litter, hedge and shrub trimming.
  • Planting shrubs, trees and bulbs.
  • Use of gardening equipment, powered hand tools and ride on machinery.
  • Plan and prepare for seasonal works such as spring prep/start, and end of season renovations ensure that tools and equipment and materials are organised in advance and ready when required.
  • Graffiti removal.
  • Snow clearance and gritting.

Key requirements:

  • Full clean UK Driving Licence.
  • PA1/PA6 Pesticide Licences would be desirable.
  • Experience in using gardening power tools.
  • Knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation and safety procedures.
  • Commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
