Pinnacle Group is seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to lead the day-to-day operations and maintenance across a portfolio of schools in Exeter. You will focus on the effective delivery of hard FM services, ensuring all sites remain safe, compliant, and fully operational. The successful candidate will take full ownership of service issues, providing prompt, practical solutions and maintaining strong relationships with school stakeholders.
This is a temporary site-based role at Aston Court, Pynes Hill, Rydon Lane, Exeter.
You will be joining our Total FM team based in Exeter. The Total FM team provides integrated asset management and maintenance services across the education, leisure, corporate, health and living sectors to ensure facilities operate at their best.

Key responsibilities:
- Provide induction training to all new starters, make available any PPE/Uniform requirements are issued.
- Provide direct line management and leadership to the Caretaking team.
- Ensure that performance issues are managed in a prompt and effective manner.
- Ensure safe systems of work are followed. Demonstrate an observable commitment to behavioural safety and embracing an accident-free culture, promote near miss reporting.
- Manage HR related business for your team, produce working Rota’s, manage annual leave requests, non-attendance, return to work interviews and disciplinary procedures.
- Monitor/audit sites to review standards and performance of sites.
- Ensure Risk Assessments and Method Statements are provided for all Contractor activities on your sites, where required ensure the correct issue of work permits.
- Financial responsibility for contracted works, monitor and report variations.
- Minimize penalty deductions by ensuring the open docket reviews are carried out regularly to ensure the numbers of open jobs are closed on time and kept to a minimum.
- Carry out a weekly review of completed PPM documents, sign them off if complete, if incomplete, arrange for the PPM to be corrected with your team, and upload to SharePoint.
