We are looking for a dedicated and resilient Learning Support Assistant to join our Alternative Education Provision, supporting young people with social, emotional, behavioural, and additional learning needs.

This is a rewarding role where you will work closely with teaching staff to support students on a one-to-one basis and in small groups, helping them to re-engage with education, develop positive behaviours, and achieve their potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with additional needs in accessing learning
  • Assist teachers with lesson delivery and classroom organisation
  • Promote positive behaviour and manage challenging situations
  • Contribute to student progress monitoring and individual learning plans
  • Provide targeted support, including literacy, numeracy, and exam assistance
  • Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and structured learning environment

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with young people, particularly those with additional needs or challenging behaviour
  • Is patient, adaptable, and emotionally resilient
  • Can build positive relationships while maintaining professional boundaries
  • Works well as part of a team and takes a proactive approach
  • Experience in alternative provision, PRU, or SEND settings
  • Relevant qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning)
