Overview
In this Project Manager role, you will lead civil highway schemes to successful, profitable delivery while meeting client specifications. You’ll coordinate cross-functional site teams and interfaces, ensuring safety, training, and performance. The position supports the division with cost reporting, value engineering, and timely tenders to strengthen the company’s reputation. You will drive timely, high-quality project outcomes and help identify new client opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Profitably complete projects to client specifications and ensure client satisfaction
- Plan resources and resolve shortfalls or over-re sourcing cost-effectively
- Coordinate interfaces with other parts of the division
- Ensure all personnel, including subcontractors, are trained, competent, and work safely
- Jointly prepare project Cost Value Reports and Contract Status Reports with commercial staff
- Liaise with estimating to provide value engineering and lessons learnt for competitive tenders
- Deliver schemes on time to enhance company reputation and enable further business
- Assist in identifying new client targets and approach with Commercial Manager
Key requirements
- Extensive project management experience on civil engineering schemes
- Highways/roads and design reactive and planned maintenance experience
- Degree-qualified and able to manage a project team
- Recent highways experience (2–3 years minimum)
