Pinnacle Recruitment is seeking an experienced Site Manager on behalf of a leading construction contractor with an established presence across the UK. This is an excellent opportunity for a Site Manager in Greater London to join a collaborative, forward-thinking team delivering high-quality, high-value construction projects across a variety of sectors.

About the Role

As Site Manager, you will have a wide and varied remit, taking full responsibility for the safe delivery of medium to large scale construction projects in Greater London, on time, to budget and to the highest quality standards. This role is ideally suited to an experienced Site Manager with a proven track record across commercial, retail, healthcare, education, refurbishment or new build projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commercial:
    • Maintain a full understanding of the building contract, project stakeholders and scope of works for each sub-contractor package
    • Liaise with the Project Manager and Project Quantity Surveyor on works outside the agreed scope
    • Undertake material and equipment orders in conjunction with the project quantity surveyor
  • Operational:
    • Issue and close out permits for various work activities on site
    • Manage utility provisions, diversions, upgrades and protection works
    • Make necessary applications to the Highways Authority for road openings, skips and welfare facilities
    • Manage applications to utility companies for temporary water, drainage and electricity connections
    • Oversee any off-site Highways works and manage the process with relevant parties
  • Quality:
    • Raise NCRs for poor quality works and manage resolution
    • Ensure sub-contractors compile, issue and close out Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs)
    • Compile and manage snagging lists through to close out
  • Health & Safety:
    • Ensure full compliance with current Health & Safety and CDM legislation across the project
    • Undertake the role of Temporary Works Coordinator where applicable
    • Ensure labour-only sub-contractors are properly assessed with Method Statements and Risk Assessments in place

What We're Looking For

  • Essential:
    • CSCS/CSR card
    • SMSTS qualified
  • Desirable:
    • First Aid at Work
    • Professional construction qualification
  • Experience:
    • Proven experience as a Site Manager within commercial, retail, healthcare, education, refurbishment and/or new build projects
    • Demonstrated ability to manage and control subcontractors in line with programme, safety and environmental legislation
    • Experience of temporary works procedures
    • Ability to produce short-term programmes and operate effectively within a team environment
