Overview
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will lead commercial delivery for a range of construction projects across sectors, from new builds to refurbishments, within a Tier 1 contractor environment. You’ll manage multiple projects autonomously, optimize cost and value, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet client needs. This role offers exposure to diverse sectors and a clear impact on project outcomes and profitability. You will contribute to delivering high-quality, on-time projects from Bedfordshire offices.
Responsibilities
- Manage commercial delivery across multiple projects in sectors such as commercial, education, healthcare, retail, leisure and hotels
- Monitor cost control, budgeting, and value optimization throughout project lifecycles
- Administer contracts and handle variations to protect commercial interests
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure timely procurement and subcontractor management
- Work autonomously on concurrent projects while reporting to senior stakeholders
- Support pre-construction activities with cost plans and risk assessment
- Contribute to the overall profitability and financial health of projects
Key requirements
- Degree qualification or relevant qualifications (stated as ideal)
- Experience with a reputable main contractor
- Experience across multiple sectors and project types (new build, design and build, refurbishment, fit-out)
- Ability to manage multiple projects autonomously
- Excellent commercial awareness
- Must be able to commute to Bedford, Bedfordshire
