Locations will include Birmingham, Leicester, Wellingborough and MidlandsProjects will include Highways, 278 works, demolition, enabling works, new construction, foundations, piling, RC concrete, works, and drainage. Must come from a main contractor background and have experience in Civil Engineering.The roleThe candidate will be Responsible for the technical engineering delivery and site co-ordination of a section of the project works. Take ownership of the health, safety and environmental, quality, programme and commercial management of the sections of the project.Duties;Setting out of civil engineering and building works on various sites within the operating areaEnsure quality control requirements are met and recorded in accordance with specificationOperate and promote a high standard of health and safety and environmentPlan and schedule the work and efficiently organise the site in order to meet an agreed programme of deadlinesLiaise and attend regular meetings with the Section Engineer/Sub Agent/Site Agent to update on progress of worksRead and understand construction and other drawings, specifications and other technical information.Calculate quantities and understand construction measurement methodsRequisition of materialsUnderstand plant and equipmentProduct/assist in the production of method statements, inspection and test plans and risk assessments and to ensure compliance of the sameComply fully with Company’s Business Management System (BMS)AttributesAbility to work to tight deadlines and consistently deliver safe and efficient projects on timeTeam playerGood interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to use initiativeStrong attention to detailEssentialHNC/Degree civil engineeringDependant on whether applying for Site engineer role, senior engineer role or Sub agent roleSite engineer must have 2/3 years experienceSenior engineer – must have 6/7 years experienceSub agent must have 8/9 years experienceThese years working as an Engineer on civil projects for a main contractor in a permanent positionSound knowledge of construction methods, health and safety, and legal regulations.Experience of working within the civil engineering industry for a main contractor (essential)Valid CSCS card
