A specialist and technically skilled business dedicated to structural concrete repair, strengthening, protection and refurbishment of vital civil infrastructure across the UK, is seeking a QS to join the commercial team in the NW region. From bridges and tunnels to power assets, ports, highways and energy structures, they play a crucial role in extending the life of the UK's most important assets.

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will support both pre- and post-contract activities across multiple live projects. You'll be central to ensuring commercial excellence, strong financial governance and the successful delivery of schemes across the region.

Responsibilities:
  • Managing commercial strategy and supporting profitability on allocated schemes
  • Maintaining contract cost reporting systems and producing accurate cost forecasts
  • Monitoring costs to completion and managing budgets, variations and change
  • Ensuring subcontract tenders, placement and accounts are administered correctly
  • Managing applications for payment, cash flow and valuation plans
  • Supporting project reviews, monthly reporting and stakeholder communication
  • Ensuring compliance with companies BMS and commercial expectations
  • Building strong relationships with customers, supply chain and internal teams
Essential Experience:
  • Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor
  • BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying
  • Strong working knowledge of construction law, contracts (including NEC), tendering and procurement
  • Experience managing subcontractor packages and administering contracts
  • Good IT, numeracy and reporting skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • A results-driven mindset with strong negotiation and stakeholder skills
Desirable:
  • Professional membership (RICS, CICES, CIOB, ICE etc.)
