Pinnacle Recruitment is seeking an experienced Project Director on behalf of a leading construction contractor with an established presence across the UK and Ireland. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Project Director in Greater London to take on a senior leadership role delivering complex, high-value construction projects.
About the Role
As Project Director, you will report to the Operations Director and take full responsibility for managing all site-based activities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, to the required standard and to the complete satisfaction of the client. This is a high-profile position suited to an experienced construction professional ready to make a real impact across major projects in Greater London.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent the business interests internally and externally at senior level
- Lead and manage the operational team, ensuring adequate resourcing to achieve company targets
- Maintain direct oversight and management of project budgets and expenditure
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors
- Undertake regular site visits and attend monthly CVR project reviews
- Prepare comprehensive business reports for Operations Review Meetings and board-level reporting
- Escalate projects with significant delivery risk and implement agreed action plans
- Monitor project correspondence to ensure all contractual processes, notices and records are in order
- Support business development activities and assist with bid and negotiation processes
- Expand the sub-contractor supply chain, introducing new companies who deliver the highest standards
- Deliver regional workshops and focus groups with the supply chain to drive continuous improvement
- Champion the company's vision, values and behaviours across the team
- Ensure compliance with SHEQ standards, CDM legislation and the Considerate Contractors Scheme
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Extensive construction sector knowledge and senior leadership experience
- Proven track record delivering technically challenging projects with diverse teams
- Strong understanding of Design & Build, JCT and NEC contracts
- Experience managing diverse stakeholders at client, consultant and contractor level
- Strong commercial and operational awareness
- Excellent presentation and communication skills
