Overview
As No.1 Site Manager, you will lead on-site delivery of a 115-home new-build project on a 10-acre site, ensuring quality and timeliness from start to finish. You’ll report to the Contracts Manager, coordinating traditional construction methods and multi-disciplinary teams to transform a residential development. This role offers impact in growing a regional contractor’s home-building portfolio and shaping communities. You will thrive in a fast-paced, ambitious environment that values hands-on leadership and safety excellence.
Pay / Benefits
- salary £50,000–£55,000
- plus package
Responsibilities
- oversee on-site delivery of a large new-build residential project from start to finish
- coordinate trades, subcontractors, and site activities to meet schedule and budget
- ensure compliance with safety, quality, and building regulations
- maintain clear communication with the Contracts Manager and stakeholders
- monitor progress and resolve on-site issues to prevent delays
- liaise with design team and client where required
- manage site logistics and resource planning
- ensure proper documentation and reporting on site
Key requirements
- Degree qualified or other relevant construction qualification (ideally)
- proven track record on new-build residential projects for reputable main contractor or residential developer
- experience building homes using traditional construction methods
- First Aid, SMSTS, CSCS
- able to commute to Bury St Edmunds daily
