Job ID: 11305Salary: 70000 - 80000Location: Milton KeynesRegion: Milton KeynesPinnacle have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join one of our key clients who are a leading civils and ground works contractor specialising within the Highways Sector.We are are looking for an experienced SQS who has a track record in managing all costs relating to building and civil engineering projects, from the initial calculations to the final figures.Day to day duties will include but not be limited to: Seeking to minimise the costs of a project and enhance value for money, while still achieving the required standards and quality. Managing a small team of less experienced commercial staff as well as mentoring others on their journey to being professionally qualified.As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, your main accountabilities will be as follows:Orders information and systematically checks dataWorking on civils projects such as section 278 and 38 works around 3 Million in value.Critically appraises, estimates and negotiates the above with 3rd parties, reviews complex contract programmes such as Time-LocationAssists with the preparation of delay and disruption programmesMonitors subcontract activities, measure and respond appropriatelyAnalyses the commercial progress and report to senior project staffManages commercial aspects with Customer and Stakeholders for their area of responsibilityPrepares procurement programme and helps develop the strategyAnalyses rates & prices, agreement of variations and compensation events as requiredPrepares, submits and negotiates claims when requiredPrepares Internal reports, commercial progress and financial reconciliationManages HR/People aspects for direct and indirect reports (PDRs etc)Actively supports the development of others including professional mentoringProduces plans for team to achieve goals / aspirationsSupports recruitment of lower gradesCritically appraises, estimates and negotiates the above with 3rd partiesUndertakes constructability analyses using construction programmesThe following qualifications are essential:BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or experience equivalentMembership of RICS, ICES or CIOB (or working towardsIn return successful candidates will be offered competitive salary, pension contributions and the opportunity to develop their career with a modern and progressive company.
