Employed by a leading rail contractor that oprates across the UK.Some of your key duties will include:Produce monthly cost reports and forecastsEnsure the companies commercial policies and procedures are being adhered toPrepare and complete sub-contract documentationPrepare and process sub-contractor applications for paymentAgree sub-contractor final accountsManage variations and change controlAct as a mentor to junior members of the commercial teamSupport the commercialExperience and Skills:β’ Experience within the Rail and civils construction sector. β’ Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying and/or Construction Law. β’ Minimum of 2 yearsβ Senior Quantity Surveyor experience. β’ Excellent communication and negotiation skills. β’ Experience in interpreting contracts/contractual terms. β’ Good working knowledge of industry standard forms of contract, in particular the Network Rail suite. β’ Work collaboratively and use influence to gain results. β’ Show initiative in resolving problems. β’ Understand and seek to minimise waste in resources and processes. β’ Value for money mentality. β’ Take a balanced view on decisions made, considering long term impact/consequences. β’ Full driving licence. β’ Highly competent in the suite of Microsoft Office (365, Excel, Word, Sharepoint, PowerPoint etc).
