Pinnacle’s client is a leading railway contractor in central London and they are looking for an Estimator (Senior or Intermediate) to be based in their central London office. You will be working for a top-tier business that cost, manage, operate and design large railway engineering projects. Many of the developments and projects are in the range of 50m to 47bn+.RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIESPreparation of tender reports1st Principle EstimationAnalysis, evaluation/assessment of tender reportsNegotiation and contract formulationReview the Preparation of cost plansHandling post tender qualification documents & proceduresPreparation of recommendations for award of contractor packagesAttending meetings with clients and contractorsPotential management of more junior members of staffDESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCEPrevious experience working in the rail signalling sector is mandatoryExperience working for a Main Contractor is also considered for this role, as well as a consultancy organisationIT proficient with extensive exposure to use of spreadsheets & bespoke IT packages relating to cost planning is essentialExperience of working competently & consistently in a Pre-Contract role is essentialDemonstrable experience on your CV of your ability to perform unassisted a number of the pre-contract duties listed above is requiredExperience of managing junior members of staff is beneficialVast post qualification experience in an Estimating roleTo be considered for this position the successful candidate will need to posses;5 years experience of working on large rail signalling engineering projectsClient facing experience although not essentialWorking towards MRICS or MCIOB but not essentialBSc Quantity Surveying or equivalentEstimating experience
