Pinnacle Recruitment are currently looking for a Risk Manager to join a leading utilities contractor specialising in the water and civil engineering sectors. You will be joining our clients Project Management Office (PMO) team in Ilkeston. This is a pivotal role where you will support project teams and senior stakeholders to identify, assess, and manage risks and opportunities that have real impact on our performance, delivery, and long‑term success.
In this role, you’ll lead structured risk processes across multiple projects, ensuring robust governance, clear visibility of emerging issues, and proactive mitigation planning. You’ll monitor exposures, analyse risk data, guide decision-makers with high-quality reporting, and contribute to continuous improvement of our risk management framework. Working closely with a broad network of colleagues, you’ll help embed a culture of informed, forward‑thinking risk practice that supports both project outcomes and business objectives.
The successful candidate will be required to attend the office or site at least 3 times a week. Salary - £50,000 - £60,000 DOE.
Requirements

- Strong understanding of integrated risk management principles, with experience applying them across projects or programmes.
- Proven ability to facilitate risk workshops and engage diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to analyse both qualitative and quantitative risk data (probabilistic modelling experience welcomed but training can be provided).
- Awareness of project controls and how cost, schedule, and performance interact with risk.
- Familiarity with risk tools and data visualisation platforms (e.g., ARM, Xactium, Predict, Safran, @Risk, Tableau, Power BI).
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts clearly and confidently.
- Demonstrated experience delivering risk management solutions on complex or high‑value projects.
- Tier 1 contractor experience required, water industry experience desirable.
- Desirable: Project experience in utilities or environment sector, preferably the water industry; IRM/APM risk qualification (or working towards).
