The Senior Quantity Surveyor is responsible for the commercial management of major highways infrastructure projects from pre-construction through to final account.

The role ensures that projects are delivered profitably while effectively managing contractual risk, client relationships, subcontractor procurement, cost control, and commercial reporting.

Working closely with Operations, Estimating, Planning, and Finance teams, the Senior Quantity Surveyor will provide commercial leadership across one or more projects and support the development of junior commercial staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commercial Management
  • Take full commercial responsibility for allocated highways projects.
  • Prepare, monitor and report project budgets, forecasts and cost-to-complete.
  • Maximise project profitability through effective commercial management.
  • Ensure accurate valuation of works and timely submission of applications for payment.
  • Prepare monthly CVRs (Cost Value Reconciliations).
  • Monitor project performance against budget and identify commercial risks and opportunities.
  • Manage project cash flow.
  • Contract Administration
  • Administer contracts under NEC3/NEC4 and other standard forms where applicable.
  • Manage compensation events, early warnings and contractual notifications.
  • Ensure contractual compliance by both the company and subcontractors.
  • Prepare and negotiate variations and change management.
  • Maintain comprehensive commercial records.

Salary is upto £75,000 + pkg.
