Overview
As Senior Quantity Surveyor you will drive commercial control across multiple residential developments for a regional contractor. You will manage cost, cash flow and final accounts from inception to completion, coordinating with the commercial team to protect project profitability. Youβll work on high-value schemes, including a 100m multi-unit development and a long-term urban renewal project, contributing to community regeneration. This role offers a permanent position near Watford with competitive package including a car allowance, and a focus on dispute avoidance and timely payments.

Responsibilities
- Finance control of allocated projects including cash flow forecasting and cost re-measurement
- Subcontractor and supplier account administration with emphasis on timely applications, payments and notices
- Update and inform Managing Surveyor on account progress through to finalisation
- Procurement of sub-trades and suppliers in a cost-effective manner in collaboration with the Managing Surveyor
- Production of main/subcontract final accounts and evaluation of variations and loss/expense issues
- Attend project and client meetings and provide accurate cost information
- Ensure payments and notices comply with Sub-contract and Construction Act
- Cultivate strong client and subcontractor relationships to support dispute avoidance
Key requirements
- Track record with a reputable main contractor or residential developer
- Experience on large residential developments
- Strong commercial skills and awareness
- Full driving license
- Ability to commute daily to Hertfordshire (near Watford)
