Overview
In this role you will coordinate the design process for traditional build housing projects, ensuring high-quality, cost-effective design information. You will work within a growing private development arm to support 50+ unit schemes and liaise with clients, consultants, and authorities. The position offers exposure to complex, architecturally designed residential schemes in the Northern Home Counties and contributes to delivering environmentally sustainable housing. You will join a community-focused contractor and help drive timely approvals and robust design delivery.

Responsibilities
- Coordinate design process and collate design information
- Coordinate consultant and subcontractor designs; chair meetings and report progress
- Provide and coordinate detailed design information for construction and commercial teams
- Verify design compliance with Employer’s Requirements and obtain client approvals for variances
- Manage statutory and technical approvals with authorities and providers
- Negotiate fees and appoint design consultants; schedule deliverables and warranties
- Maintain professional relations with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and authorities
Key requirements
- Proven track record with a developer or main contractor on traditional build housing
- Experience in pre-construction processes; land appraisals desirable
- Excellent communication; able to coordinate a multidisciplinary team and chair meetings
- AutoCAD experience (essential)
- ASTA Powerproject experience (desirable)
- Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel) (essential)
- Design or construction-focused degree or equivalent desirable
- Travel to Northern Home Counties sites required
