Overview
In this role you will manage design and delivery across a portfolio of highway schemes, from inception to completion. You will work within a highways and civils contracting environment to deliver transformation and maintenance projects while upholding HSE standards. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive programme delivery, procurement, and contract strategy in support of the company’s commercial goals. This is an opportunity to shape delivery on regional schemes and demonstrate leadership in a safety-focused, performance-driven setting.
Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end project delivery for highway schemes from inception to completion
- Oversee design, delivery, and programme coordination across regional sites (Surrey, Sussex, Hampshire, SW London)
- Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations on all projects
- Develop and implement procurement and contract strategies to meet targets
- Draft contractual correspondence, prepare reports, payment certificates, and closeout documentation
- Facilitate collaborative problem-solving and establish effective stakeholder communications
- Lead and motivate project teams to achieve or exceed performance targets
- Maintain and improve office management systems, document control and distribution
Key requirements
- Commercial experience in construction with a demonstrable track record
- Strong financial acumen and budgeting capabilities
- Methodical, practical approach with analytical thinking
- Proven negotiation and team leadership skills
- Extensive experience with contract administration and reporting (reports, minutes, payments, closeouts)
- Experience implementing strategic objectives and change programmes
- Ability to influence and drive improvements in line with corporate strategy
- Knowledge of health, safety and environmental regulations in construction
