We are looking for an experienced Senior Planner to join our growing project delivery team, supporting the successful planning and execution of complex MEP and civil engineering projects. This role is ideally suited to someone who has progressed from an engineering background, such as a Site Engineer or Senior Engineer, and has developed strong planning expertise within major infrastructure, utilities, MEP, or civil engineering environments. You'll work closely with project managers, commercial teams, engineers, and clients to develop, manage, and monitor project programmes from pre-construction through to completion, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and update detailed project programmes using Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project.
  • Produce baseline programmes, look-ahead schedules, progress updates, and recovery plans.
  • Work collaboratively with delivery teams to identify critical path activities and programme risks.
  • Monitor project progress and produce regular reports for internal stakeholders and clients.
  • Support tender planning, methodology development, and sequencing of works.
  • Analyse programme performance and recommend mitigation measures where required.
  • Liaise with engineering, commercial, procurement, and construction teams to ensure programme accuracy.
  • Assist with delay analysis, change management, and extension of time submissions where required.
  • Drive continuous improvement in planning processes across multiple projects.

About You

We're looking for someone who understands construction because they've delivered it. You may currently be a Senior Planner, Planner, or Planning Engineer, but your career started in engineering, giving you the practical knowledge to build realistic, deliverable programmes.

Essential

  • Previous experience as a Site Engineer, Senior Engineer, or similar engineering role before moving into planning.
  • Strong planning experience within MEP, civil engineering, infrastructure, utilities, or major construction projects.
  • Proficient in Primavera P6 (essential) and/or Microsoft Project.
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of NEC and/or JCT contracts is advantageous.
