We are looking to speak to an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a growing commercial team delivering major civils and infrastructure projects across the UK. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute QS with a strong background in heavy civils, infrastructure, and complex project delivery to play a key role on high-value schemes. Working alongside operational and commercial leadership, you will be responsible for managing all commercial aspects of projects from pre-construction through to final account, ensuring strong financial performance, contractual compliance, and effective stakeholder management.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the commercial management of major civils and infrastructure projects
- Prepare, manage, and report project budgets and forecasts
- Administer NEC contracts and manage contractual obligations
- Manage subcontract procurement, negotiation, and account administration
- Identify, assess, and manage commercial risks and opportunities
- Prepare and agree variations, compensation events, and final accounts
- Produce accurate cost/value reconciliations and monthly commercial reports
- Work closely with project delivery teams to maximise project performance
- Support and mentor junior commercial staff where required
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within civils and infrastructure
- Strong background delivering on civils projects
- Strong understanding and practical experience of NEC contracts
- Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams within fast-paced project environments
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
- Membership of RICS or working towards chartership is advantageous
Salary is up to £65,000 + package
