Overview
In this role you will oversee a section of works on a £65m Network Rail station upgrade project, ensuring safety, quality, and delivery to plan. You’ll work within a major contractor on rail infrastructure, collaborating with site and section engineers to solve technical challenges and optimise construction methods. The position focuses on safe execution, programme adherence, and technical support to the team, with leadership responsibilities on site. This is a great opportunity to contribute to significant station upgrades and accessibility improvements.
Responsibilities
- Ensure delivery of specified works to safety, budget and programme
- Provide innovative engineering solutions to the project
- Develop construction methodologies, plans and programmes
- Manage site activities and progress reporting
- Support material procurement approvals
- Deliver technical engineering guidance as a key team member
- Lead and mentor section engineers and site engineers
- Prepare methods and procedures with diagrams and sketches for Work Package Plans
Key requirements
- Civils project experience on a UK project with a Main/Subcontractor (essential)
- Ideally rail project experience or at least rail knowledge
