An award winning developer with an enviable reputation within the Construction industry currently have a great opportunity for a Buyer to join them on a permanent basis, based out of their offices near Guildford, Surrey. The company have been around for a number of decades and have a great reputation for delivering new build apartments Nationwide. They have won numerous awards for their work over the years, including 5-star ratings for customer satisfaction.
They have a lot of projects currently ongoing and a lot more in the pipeline, and as a result they are looking to strengthen their procurement team by bringing in an Assistant or Intermediate level Buyer.
The Buyer will be responsible for procuring materials and plant (e.g. brickwork, carpentry and sanitary materials, cabins, forklifts, fencing, cranes etc.), compiling monthly reports on budgeting control, resolving supplier disputes and providing commercial support to the Senior Buyers, Quantity Surveyors and Estimators.
- Track record working as a Buyer for a reputable Residential Developer or Main Contractor
- Experience procuring materials and plant
- Good commercial skills, awareness and astuteness
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Solid permanent employment history
- CIPS qualification would be highly advantageous
- Able to commute to near Guildford, Surrey on a daily basis
