We are looking for an experienced and well-rounded Street Lighting Supervisor to join our client’s Hertfordshire based team on a fixed term contract basis. In this role, you’ll manage the crews of Operatives and all Subcontractors who report to you, ensuring the works they’re carrying out on site meet health & safety requirements and stay within budget.
It is essential that you have an understanding of highway lighting / electrical related works as you will be required to inspect, supervise and monitor works being carried out on the highway and provide efficient assistance in the maintenance and management of a safe highway network.
- Inspect, supervise and monitor works being carried out on the highway and provide efficient and rapid assistance, at site level, in the maintenance and management of a safe and efficient highway network.
- Issue on site instructions and complete all relevant records to ensure that works are carried out.
- Day to day management of the operatives, supply chain and contractors, customers both internal and external, including the general public, the private sector, district councils, Town and Parish Councils when required.
- Carry out regular OSHE inspection of works being carried out.
- Provide Tool Box Talks to operatives.
- Continuous review of all Risk Assessment and method Statements and ensure all operatives comply with the instruction details in those.
We’re looking for an individual who has completed a City and Guilds relevant to highway engineering / ONC / equivalent qualification, and holds an NRSWA Supervisor Certificate. You should have knowledge of and experience in the maintenance, design and implementation of highway maintenance work and be conversant with relevant Health & Safety legislation.
